Rules & Regulations

Races will be held according ITU and CTF rules.
Licensed referees will be designated by CTF.
Race timing and data processing will be done by timing chip transponders.

Saturday 26.09.

09:00 – bike course – familiarization (meeting point – transition area TA) – one lap – 33km
12:00 – running course – familiarization (meeting point – transition area TA) – one lap – 5km
17:00 – Madwave swimming course -familiarization (meeting point – swim start)
14:00 – 19:00 – bike servis (next to the resort reception)
14:00 – 20:00 – start packages distribution, ID must be shown (next to the resort reception)

All race course familiarization trainings will be held by Triathlon Club Zadar

Sunday 27.09.

06:30 – Breakfast for the athletes with full board accommodation at Zaton Holiday Resort
07:05 – 8:30 – transition area (TA) open for bike check in
9:00 – RACE START
(09:00 -ELITE MEN, 09:01-ELITE WOMEN, 09:02 -AG- 5 athletes every 5 seconds)
10:30 – Kids aquathlon race
11:00 – Kids award ceremony at the finish area
11:30 – 16:30 Race finish program with music, snacks, drinks and massage at the finisher lounge area
13:30 – 16:45 – bike check out (TA)
14:00 – 17:00 – lunch for the athletes
17:30 –18:30 – Award ceremony (amphitheater)

Course

Swimming – 1900m

Average sea temperature on 27.09. is 21°C. It is allowed to use race neoprene suits.
Wave start from the beach
Referees and rescue in kayaks and motor boats
Time limit: 1:15 h from the start, until 10:15. Competitors who do not finish the swimming segment within the time limit will be disqualified (DSQ) and may continue the race entirely at their own risk!

Bicycle – 90km (2+3×29+2)

Course description: The course spans 90km and includes a 2km stretch from the transition area to Nin, followed by 3 laps of 29km each, and concludes with another 2km segment from Nin back to the transition area. The elevation ranges from a low of 1m above sea level to a high of 35m above sea level, totaling 430m of ascent and descent throughout the course. The road surface is in excellent condition.
Closed for traffic – but be carefull!!
Refreshment zone at Mazije roundabout (21km, 50km, 79km)
Refreshment offer: bananas and bike bottles with water and isotonic
An organized police escort will control the course
Referees will be on motorcycles
Stewards will be placed at the critical points
Drafting is not allowed
Penalty stop is placed next to the refreshment zone and near TA
TT bike, aero helmet and long aero bars are allowed
Time limit: 4 hours and 30 minutes from the start, until 13:30. Competitors who do not finish the bike segment within the time limit will be disqualified (DSQ) and may continue the race entirely at their own risk!

Running – 4 laps / 21,1km

Course is spreading around and inside Zaton Holiday resort, each lap is 5100 m long with 30m altitude difference per lap. Surface is asphalt and concrete along the beach. With finish extension total distance is 21,1km with 120m of ascend and descend. Expected air temperature is 23 °C.
Refreshment points: 2 x per lap (every 2,5km) and after the finish line.
Refreshment will include cups of water, Coca-Cola, iso-drinks, bananas, oranges, energy gels, bags with ice and magnesium.
Time limit: 7:30h from the start, until 16:30. Competitors who do not finish the race within the time limit will be disqualified (DSQ) and may continue the race entirely at their own risk!

Fifth lap is just 700m from the end of the lap (next to the TA) to the finish line.

The competitors are responsible for their own safety after time limit is reached.
